Abstract
The article offers a comprehensive overview of the many business activities that give people the chance to work while serving their sentences and so become a good instrument for social rehabilitation. The Authors, after analysing the relevant legal framework and proving that it is possible to realize the Constitutional intent through real rehabilitation offers, do not disguise the crucial financial inadequacies of the system created by the Smuraglia Law (and subsequent measures), which risk to undermine the efforts of those who daily work to create possible alternatives to the damaging idleness of prison.
