Abstract

This paper presents a review of national and international scientific literature on the subject of violence in couples' relationships
in adolescence, teen dating violence. If in the American panorama this is a widely studied phenomenon that has moved
the interests of government agencies such as the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), which financed nationwide
surveys and elaborated intervention plans, in the Italian reality the study of the phenomenon is still in an embryonic
phase. After having defined and described the phenomenon in question, the authors outline the possible profile of the actors
involved and reconstruct the dynamics that may have given rise to them. Later, after a brief survey of the data on the diffusion
of the phenomenon, the work ends with a reflection on the social importance it assumes and on the need to deepen its
studies, in order to implement precise and effective prevention programs.
