Summary: Starting from a short story by Maupassant, L’Inconnue, the A. compares the Baudelairian theme of the unknown
to criminological research. He concludes by hypothesizing that the object itself of criminology is an oxymoron that presents
attractiveness and repulsion in the same way of the prohibition and the oedipal desire.
