THE EXPERIENCE OF THE REMS “MINERVA” IN PALOMBARA SABINA

Abstract

In this paper we briefly illustrate the therapeutic-rehabilitative treatments carried out in the REMS "Minerva", located in Palombara
Sabina. The integrated therapeutic-rehabilitative projects are shared with the guest in agreement with the psychiatrists of the local mental
health center. The therapeutic work is inspired by the principles of recovery, providing the maximum active involvement of the patient.
In addition to the regular assumption of psychopharmacological therapy, psychiatric and psychological interviews, individual and group
psychotherapy, rehabilitation activities and periodic re-socialization activities are carried-out. The definition of the care setting has allowed
a reduction of the number and intensity of aggressive actions, thanks to the high containment of the treatment model and the work of
the team.
