Distance teaching offers various stimuli for pedagogical reflection and requires a reasonable analysis to stay away from the simplifying extremisms of enthusiasts and critics at any cost. In this paper we present an exploratory survey about the experiences of second grade secondary school students in relation to the distance learning. Investigating distance learning offers some incentives to reflect on the act of teaching, both distance and presence. We recall the category of Teacher Enthusiasm as an interpretative lens to understand the students' stories. In conclusion, we mention the centrality of the word
and the body and their management, in the teaching practices.
