Between care and education. An interview with a surgeon and two psychotherapists

Abstract

What is ‘care’ and how does it interact with education in medical treatments and psychotherapy? What is ‘pain’? These are the questions addressed to a surgeon and two psychotherapists. The aim was double: from one hand bringing to light educational elements working inside the practice of these professions and, on the other hand, trying to find eventual correspondences between the answers and a theoretical moral framework of educational action, composed by the couple wisdom-care. The results encourage researching further.
