The journal’s relevance in education professions
Abstract
Autobiographical writing can be an effective means both to existential and professional selfanalysis, especially in educational practice, which is fundamentally open to the unexpected.
Whithin this field, a peculiar narrative technique like journal writing proves to be very useful.
In a journal, in fact, the main focus is on professional practice which is analyzed in its most relevant aspects, considered in light of own’s educational purposes and goals, which in turn become objects of reflection.
This device allows a permanent thoughtfulness training, meant as the first step toward that reflexive rationality which is a fundamental requirement for every good educational professional.
