Accessibility, Digital Twin and Philosophy of Design: ScanItaly project between new perspectives of access to historical, artistic and cultural heritage and new semiotic issues

Abstract

ScanItaly project is concerned with the creation of Digital Twin of historical, artistic and cultural heritage elements in order to make them accessible in educational settings through a range of technologies. In this paper, a number of open questions are proposed, raised, within the framework of the project, by the process of digitizing and repurposing artifacts in a digital context, but easily generalizable to the widely spread activities of digitizing cultural heritage.
