The intense transformations of contemporaneity highlight the inadequacy of the hegemonic development paradigms of Western society, based on binarisms and disjunctive logics, in favor of a relational-systemic perspective capable of grasping the interconnections between natural, social, cultural, economic, political, and ethical dimensions.
This process involves education professionals strongly in promoting a meaningful change of subjectivities in inhabiting complexity, supporting the formative processes of individuals and facilitating the development of collective and connective intelligences.
In this scenario, the article explores the contribution of socio-material approaches in the training of educational professionals. Their adoption fosters the development of skills to critically reflect on assumed positioning and creatively design the professional role, rooting it in the complexity of the present time.
