The contribution aims to present the results of a research-learning (Vannini, 2019) about the skills of the public Jobcentre operators in the context of vocational guidance pathways. The experience has aimed to contribute to the improvement of work practices by providing operators with specific tools designed and selected for their dual heuristic value: a) as research guidelines, to outline research paths intervention and tools able to represent and evaluate practices; b) as learning tools to activate critical reflection process on actions and methodologies based on appropriate systemic analysis. For the empirical part a mix-method approach has been used (Johnson, Christensen, 2004), considered the most suitable to promote in the participants an autonomous skills self-assessment process.
