More than half a century has gone by since Aldo Moro, Minister of Education, instituted
civic education. After a series of alternating events for the different interpretation of the
discipline, as of next year, Civics will become a compulsory subject on which students
will be assessed. This could represent a picklock with which to innovate school knowledge,
directing attention to the true democratic and educational emergency of our times:
disinformation. Starting from the educational projects of the post-war period, this
essay addresses the inevitable comparison with artificial intelligence. A journey illuminated
by the awareness that only education can reconstruct democracy in the 21st century.
