On the Path to the Nest of Spiders. The Educational Planning in 0-6 Perspective
Abstract
With the introduction of the integrated education system for 0 to 6 year olds, set out in Legislative Decree n. 65/2017, Italian early years education must address the challenge of the «continuity of the educational and scholastic course [...] by supporting the development of children in a unitary process». This article, based
on national and international research on the promotion of a culture of childhood that takes into account the requirements of child protection as well as participation, care and emancipation, describes a researchtraining project that took place in an Apulian school, on the theme of “Educational design in 0-6 perspective”.
The training course enabled participants to reflect on the need to develop tools and practices which promote the sharing of responsibility between educators, teachers and parents, on the one hand avoiding unnecessary rigidity and/or inconsistencies in the vertical design of the curriculum, and on the other, strengthening the educational function of childcare as a significant context of Education.
