Radicalize values in adolescence
The author, inspired by a news story, builds a hypothesis – based on the radical interactionism and narrative criminology teachings – about the stages of the radicalization process of a young Moroccan guy over time. The author also claims the importance of starting in schools, residential communities and juvenile criminal institutions, a work to listen and support the dissention, experienced by the teens at risk for radicalization, when it is still in the embryonic phase. This approach could help these guys to progressively get in touch with themselves and with their “inner parliament”. The support would focus on analyzing – in a completely confidential space – through which stages and till which level they are involved to initiate an extreme belief system, that supports them in the willful violation of legal and/or social norms effective for everybody who lives in the society.
