Dante as educator: notes about Romano Guardini's pedagogy

Abstract

This paper aims at exploring Romano Guardini’s life-long work on the “Divina Commedia”. The
result of his work are the two recently published volumes in the Opera Omnia plan: “Studi Danteschi”
and “La Divina Commedia di Dante. I principali concetti filosofici e religiosi”. By leading the reader
through the progressive levels of Guardini’s interpretation, the paper will bring out an unexpected
pedagogical character of Dante’s path, which may be particularly valuable for contemporary culture.
