Future education professionals’ basic training in the field of family educational relationships

Educational work, in a systemic perspective, implies a reference to family relational networks. In this context, education professionals’ training would not be separated from a deepening of family educational relationships. Knowing families and investigating approaches and methodologies, that can facilitate communication and participation of the family, become crucial elements for educational work.
Pedagogical research actively and ethically engages in exploring the complex dynamics of family relationships, outlining theories and practices aimed at directing educational actions. This commitment is essential to promote and protect family relationships, as well as to foster the growth processes of each member.
Starting from a thematic analysis of the programs of the courses related to the pedagogy of the family in the Italian universities in the a.a. 2022-2023, the contribution intends to investigate what is stated, with regard to the basic training of education professionals, with reference to the area of family educational relations and skills that future education professionals are urged to mature.
