Abstract

Today pedagogy and education are concerned with critical aspects deriving from the progressive importance of business-oriented and neo-localist cultures in the training of individuals and groups as compared to pedagogy in the democratic tradition. Research and
reflection are required to analyze the actual contradictions in order to pursue a critical understanding and a safeguarding of ideas, institutions and practices that preserve participation and emancipation.
