Abstract

The article collects two papers presented during a conference day that the High School for Human Sciences Duca D’Aosta in Padua dedicated to the memory of Enrico Mancusi Ungaro (1931-1974), who taught music and singing in that institute, leaving an important mark for his dedication to the school and the teaching innovations realized.
Starting from the events following the Unification, the authors retraced the highlights that have characterized the teaching of music in primary school and in other orders and school levels, finally identifying the current prospects for development in the institutional field.
