Abstract

In this essay the author tries to read in an analytical way the fundamental John Dewey’s book, Democracy and Education, (1916), one hundred years after its publication. He highlights the centrality of this book in Dewey’s thought. In fact, in Democracy and Education Dewey analyzes the focal meaning of his research: the educational reconstruction as a fundamental presupposition to reconstruct the meaning of the democracy.
