Abstract

What learning settings should we imagine to promote key competences for lifelong learning with regard to cultural
awareness and expression? Among the various propositions that have been available to schools and other settings for years, museums represent a privileged place to approach our cultural heritage both individually and in groups. European Recommendations (2018) and National Indications (2012, 2018) underline the value of active contact with cultural heritage, with arts and a wide range of cultural forms being seen as privileged instruments for inquiring and learning about the world (Goal 2030).
This paper aims to illustrate the elements of innovation in some activities carried out in Italy, offering immersive
practices in museum contexts to different school grades and/or experiences involving arts products in schools.
The guiding principle in the in-service training is the co–design of processes promoted by practitioners in different
areas, coming from both museum and educational contexts.
