Women’s “elsewhere”

Abstract

The paper reflects on the tragedy of the double exclusion experienced by foreign women. It uses the tragic story of Medea as a metaphor of foreign otherness, removed and rejected, and female humiliated otherness, ridiculed and persecuted, but also capable of react with courage, determination.
