Abstract

In the Mediterranean Sea, the cradle of cultures, migrant women play an important
role in the transformation of global society. More and more protagonists of the stabilization of migratory flows, they field organizational abilities, work competences, cultural knowledge, and think up new life paths, each time carrying out strategies of adaptation to promote cultural interaction.
However data arising from articles, from national and international reports, from
reference literature, from eyewitness accounts, highlight the exclusion and marginalization of migrant women as women themselves, and show the urgency of overcoming gender questions, generally related to communities and host countries.
