The current pandemic has made the use of new technologies relevant in the school environment, opening up a horizon that cannot be fully considered merely from a technological standpoint (the same reflection on the merits and limits of distance learning, and on the relationship between it and “traditional” forms of school life, risks becoming impoverished if pursued only from that side). An “anthropological” awareness is needed, which philosophies such as Maurice Nedoncelle’s personalism allow to be developed, proposing significant contributions to a reflection on the difficulties and challenges of our time. His analysis of the forms of “reciprocity” from the perspective of an ontology of the person might constitute a foundation for updating ed-ucational proposals inspired by the values of classical paideia, already formulated in the context of twentieth-century culture and still adequate for the problems of our time.
