Abstract

This paper aims to investigate the connection between visual disabilities and access to culture, considered a fundamental aspect for achieving full participation in social life. The inclusion of people with visual impairments in Higher Education is particularly challenging, especially in those areas of knowledge that would seem to exclude them entirely, like the visual arts. The paper focuses on the accessibility of university courses and subjects related to Art and Architecture for blind and visually impaired students. The Erasmus+ In-VisIBLE project takes up this challenge and, thanks to the synergetic work of an interdisciplinary partnership, aims to make university courses of History of Architecture accessible to all, without inequalities. The article presents the results to which the In-VisIBLe project aims, highlighting its potential positive effects in the cultural and educational fields The article presents the results aimed at by the In-VisIBLe project, highlighting its potential positive effects in the cultural and educational fields and, in conclusion, offers a reflection on the importance of adopting inclusive didactics in schools and universities to promote an increasingly inclusive society.
