Within the framework of the neo-personalist perspective developed by Giuseppe Flores d’Arcais, which identifies the person as the ethical and relational foundation of education, the pedagogical thought of Luisa Santelli Beccegato can be situated. Emeritus Professor of Experimental Pedagogy at the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, Santelli Beccegato combined theoretical reflection
and empirical research in the fields of teacher education, assessment, intercultural education, and social pedagogy, developing an educational perspective grounded in human dignity, responsibility, and relational care. Alongside her scholarly production, particular significance must be attributed to her institutional and cultural commitment to equal opportunities: through her presidency of the University Equal Opportunities Committee, she contributed to bringing issues concerning women’s conditions, educational justice, and gender recognition into pedagogical and academic debate, framing them as crucial democratic and educational concerns.
