The well-being of children and teenagers in urban areas is an index of life quality and sustainability. Pedagogical action, with reference to the right to be heard and to participate, as affirmed in the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child, has developed projects to involve them in local planning. A possible way to care for natural and cultural heritage and to implement sustainability is assuming the Outdoor Education perspective through interactive participation. Practices of interaction with contexts of life and of active citizenship enable children and teenagers to build their own identity by being in relationship with the environment and other human beings, to develop a sense of belonging, and to increase their sensitivity to environmental balance.
