This paper examines the quality-of-life and well-being metrics associated with the use of assistive technologies (AT) in rare neuromuscular disorders (NMD), through a systematic literature review conducted according to the PRISMA protocol and covering the period 2015–2025. The aim of this analysis is to investigate how AT, when appropriately designed and implemented, may enhance functioning, autonomy, and perceived well-being in individuals with NMD. To this end, qualitative and quantitative studies were included, incorporating standardized quality-of-life measures, indicators of psychological and social well-being, and functional metrics aligned with the ICF framework. The synthesis of evidence suggests that AT can lead to significant improvements in domains such as participation, mobility, communication, and self-determination. However, several challenges and areas for further inquiry emerge, including variability in the metrics employed, limited homogeneity in outcome assessment, and the need for research integrating both subjective and objective measures to achieve a more comprehensive evaluation of the impact of assistive technologies.
