Abstract

The cognitive disabilities represent one of the most common disorders in the school population. They are characterized by deficits in cognitive, adaptive and social participation skills. The peer’s
involvement in the educational intervention is one of the most effective educational strategies for the development of adaptive and social skills. In this paper the opportunities for co-opting partners in relation to inclusive educational interventions designed for students with Intellectual disabilities are presented, and the implications for the development of the social participation are discussed.
