Abstract

The essay aims to analyse three poems by Guido Cavalcanti: Io temo che la mia disaventura, La forte e nova mia disaventura and Perch'i' no spero tornar giammai. These texts are placed at the end of the collection of poems, and they allow to trace some of the weightiest elements that distinguish the work of the Florentine poet and philosopher, first among everything the characterization of loves’ sentiment as a poignant disaventura. Be-fore getting to the comment itself, it seemed useful to make a few observations on the organization that underlies the edition of the thirty-five poems: the system in which Cavalcanti's work is divided and presented stands for the inherent features of his lyrical production.
