The establishment of the professional order and education professionals

This contribution critically examines the impact of the recent legislation (L.55/24) establishing the register of pedagogical professions on the role of pedagogy. Recognizing the socio-pedagogical educator and the pedagogist as regulated professions raises questions about their training, the proprium of pedagogy, and their professional acts. This framework offers an opportunity to reassess the functions of pedagogy as a science of (professional) education, prompting reflection on its epistemological identity and disciplinary status.
