Abstract

Educating a child to read means equipping him or her to face the challenges of life, starting with those peculiar to his or her young age; putting in his or her hands a tool to contribute to his or her development, understood in a holistic sense. This requires the weaving of a network, aimed at the promotion and education of reading, involving, as promoters, all those who deal, in various capacities, with children and young people, primarily parents, educators and teachers. Starting from these assumptions, the contribution intends to reflect on the value of joint training courses (D. Lgs. 65/2017 and L. 107/2015) – implemented by the Department of Humanistic Studies of the University of Foggia – as occasions potentially able to train educators and teachers capable of promoting and supporting reading and of giving life to real school libraries in the 0-6 system.
