Abstract

The Formation Plan is an initiative from the School Libraries (CRA) program from Chile’s Ministry of Education that addresses the specific learning needs demonstrated by library teams belonging to state-funded institutions across the country. The goal is that every participant develops their abilities and competences, since the Plan recognizes library teams as agents of change in their educative community, articulators and mediators that inspire the library’s prominence. In light of a profile of the person in charge of the library and a formative trajectory of more than 10 courses, the Plan has evinced changes in the school’s professional teams in the last 4 years. This article explains the primary formative outlines presently pursued by the Plan, with a particular approach on subjects such as reading mediation, resource management. Concurrently, said outlines are examined to reevaluate a significant challenge: how should we continue educating our library teams?
