Abstract

bell hooks (1952-2021), considered education a political act, rooted in the anti-racist struggle, and study, the way to women’s emancipation. She sees her pedagogy as committed and decolonial. She considers feminism a movement aimed at ending sexism, oppression and patriarchy: it is not an anti-men’s movement. It always adopts an intersectional approach to recognise and combat
the forms of oppression that come from gender, class and race. Although ecology is not the focus of its work, the intersectional approach suggests that struggles for social justice, feminism and respect for the environment are linked.
