Abstract

Is it possible to cultivate a human sense of old age? The contribution, from a pedagogical perspective, attempts to answer a question that has all the characteristics of a social as well as an educational emergency. And which calls pedagogical knowledge to assume a strong responsibility. Here we intend to reflect on the idea that pedagogy, in the instance of lifelong education, welcomes into its horizon of meaning and action the question of old age, in the complexity of aspects that contribute to connoting it. Specifically, “intergenerationality” is identified as a possibility for supporting active aging and ensuring a good life for the aging, nurturing it through dialogues, exchanges, reciprocity. So, a possibility to rethink the last age of life in a human sense.
