Abstract

Recreational activities serve as a source of motivation for adults and promote the development of transversal skills. This paper analyses the experience of a table tennis project for individuals with Parkinson's disease carried out in Lombardy and its effects on quality of life and psychosocial well-being. Engaging in a stimulating athletic environment appears to have a positive impact on social interaction, self-efficacy, and individual planning, while also benefiting caregivers and their relationship with the person they care for. The experience highlights the role of sports associations and volunteers.
