Call for papers n.196 (2024)
The magazine "Pampaedia" invites university professors, researchers, research fellows, PhD holders and candidates, scholars, teachers, educators, librarians and school administrators to submit their contributions on the subject:
“Educating towards curiosity and critical thinking for a conscious use of technologies”
The introduction of technologies in schools does not guarantee an improvement in educational outcomes. Its realization requires the presence of other factors, especially related to innovative teaching methodologies, also facilitated by digital technologies. Teaching with the aid and support of technologies involves rethinking personal teaching methodologies, requiring a special approach that places the learner at the center, even in a collaborative form. To be truly effective, teaching must evoke participation and curiosity in the learner, mobilizing a wide range of knowledge and skills. In summary, one must envision a flipped classroom approach that focuses on student protagonism, critical thinking, and creativity.
For this reason, a conscious use of new technologies must uphold the goal of fully engaging the student. The inclusion of all cognitive and affective, moral and civic aspects will promote being and doing in the digital world to help prevent the risks of an excessively "immersive" drift, lacking the necessary critical awareness of ethical implications in new and increasingly sophisticated technologies.
