The approach towards the autistic person should consider individual characteristics and the
specific operating profile of which each one of us is the expression. In this work, even through a
scientific literature analysis dedicated to this topic, we intend to reflect on the effectiveness of
the visual code used in the educational paths and in learning, addressed to the students with
autistic disorder. Individuals with autism have problems with the elaboration of language, due
to the symptomatology, and the exclusive use of verbal language can be disorientating, making
the interaction with others very difficult. On the contrary, the visual channel represents one of
the strenghts for these students, especially at school. Taking into consideration the ICF principles,
we can highlight how the visual strategies can make the context much more inclusive. This work
illustrates a study based on the use of visual language and the results confirm its effectiveness.
