Empathy is an essential component in educational relationships, which can positively influence social skills, motivation, learning, and, in general, the well-being of students. However, the advent of the most recent Artificial Intelligence systems, capable of simulating and, apparently, even soliciting empathic responses, raises new questions about the authenticity and effectiveness of such interactions compared to humans. This paper examines the qualitative differences between human and artificial empathy within educational practice, analyzing their dynamics and influence on learning processes, to understand their limits and potential.
