Abstract

The difficulty in defining the educational profession may be linked to the shared use of distinctly pedagogical concepts (such as intentionality, relationships, and planning) with other care professions (social workers, psychologists, teachers, etc.), which can make it challenging for educators to recognize and articulate their specificities. Through the analysis of a case study conducted by the LabRIEF research group at the University of Padua, the findings allowed for consideration of how the pervasiveness of pedagogical competence:

  • Can serve as a unifying element that fosters cohesion and shared understanding within the multidisciplinary team;
  • Acknowledges the distinctiveness of the educational profession through the dimensions of everyday life, relationships, and dialogue, seen as key mediators in building participation within the multidisciplinary team.
