In the dimension of conflict experienced in the present age, family, school and society become battlefields in which humanity survives; the dimensions of anger, ego, narcissism, loneliness, pain, finitude and disenchantment are pervasive and oppressive. School sector is in crisis, burnouts are frequent. Meditation, on the other hand, is able to anchor the human being in the here-and-now, developing attention, awareness, compassion, loving-kindness, shared joy and equanimity; if practised, it can act on daily living and well-being, activating the formative and pedagogical processes of self-care. Recent research clearly shows how meditation can be applied to teacher training.
