Nietzsche’s critical and educational perspective, aims to bring to light the need to think of school not so much as a place of notions and skills but as a “cultural” environment in which meanings and values are generated and shared. Within this framework, the critical issues arising from an idea of school that is often focused on specialised and professional preparation will be analysed and the importance of adopting a pedagogical perspective capable of increasing the cultural and human dimension in students for an active and critical participation in society will be emphasised.
