Abstract

The paper reconstructs the factors that led scientists to define the geological epoch in which we live as the Anthropocene. It highlights its characteristics, its destructive potential but also its generative opportunities. Moreover, the essay recognises the role of education in the process of individual and collective transformation necessary to build a just, equitable, and sustainable future.
