Abstract

In this paper, I shall discuss the question of assessment as it is conceived in a neoliberal mindset, which, at least from the 1990s, has come to frame educational processes and schooling worldwide. I shall argue that the neoliberal mindset, de facto, puts education under the aegis of a frame constituted by money, success, evidence, and competition. Particularly, it is the question of evidence that is pivotal to such a neoliberal mindset which, far from being just a scientific question, is at the very same time the engine and the epistemological blueprint of an ethical and political apparatus.
