Abstract

The paper aims to investigate in an educational key the interweaving between intergenerational dialogue, memory, and possible future scenarios, starting from a look on contemporary society. Pedagogical reflection is urged to monitor these issues and to offer a conceptual framework that can guide educational practice in the planning perspective. It is a matter of tracing paths of educational support aimed at the search for authentic meanings and values for life, against the temptation to take easy shortcuts or to embrace the inaction of presentism. The task of popular pedagogy stands out on the horizon, called to dialogue with today’s context and to offer alternatives to the widespread illusions and educational drifts.
