Information For Authors
SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
The journal welcomes original, unpublished contributions on topics consistent with its aims and scope. All submitted manuscripts are subject to a double-blind peer review process.
Manuscripts must be submitted by uploading the file to the OJS platform after registering as a user.
Submissions must be anonymized. Authors' names and institutional affiliations must not appear beneath the title, in the references, or in any biographical notes.
Articles must be accompanied by an abstract in both Italian and English, together with five keywords in both Italian and English.
Manuscripts must comply with the Editorial Guidelines. Submissions that do not meet the journal's formal requirements will be rejected without being sent for peer review.
PUBLICATION SCHEDULE
The journal publishes two issues each year, in June and December. Submission deadlines are as follows:
- 31 January for the June issue;
- 31 July for the December issue.
CODE OF ETHICS
«Per leggere» is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal. Its editorial practices are guided by the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which sets out ethical standards for editors, reviewers, and authors.
DUTIES OF THE EDITORS
Publication decisions. The Editors of «Per leggere» are responsible for deciding whether submitted manuscripts should be published.
Fairness. Editors evaluate submissions solely on their scholarly merit, without discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or the political views of the authors.
Confidentiality. Editors and members of the Editorial and Scientific Board undertake not to disclose any information concerning submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and fellow editors.
Conflicts of interest and disclosure. Editors undertake not to use unpublished material contained in submitted manuscripts in their own research without the author's explicit written consent.
DUTIES OF REVIEWERS
Contribution to editorial decisions. Peer review assists the Editors in making publication decisions and helps authors improve their manuscripts.
Timeliness. Reviewers who feel unqualified to assess a manuscript, or who know that they will be unable to complete the review within the agreed time, should promptly notify the Editors.
Confidentiality. All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be discussed with or disclosed to others without the explicit authorization of the Editors.
Objectivity. Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers are expected to express their views clearly and support their evaluations with appropriate arguments.
Acknowledgement of sources. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the author. They should also notify the Editors of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and other works of which they are aware.
Conflicts of interest and disclosure. Information acquired during the peer-review process must be treated as confidential and must not be used for personal advantage. Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists as a result of competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or their institutions.
DUTIES OF AUTHORS
Data access and retention. Where requested by the Editors, authors should make available the data or source materials on which their research is based, so that they may be retained for a reasonable period after publication and, where possible, made accessible.
Originality and plagiarism. Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original and that all sources used are properly acknowledged and cited.
Multiple, redundant, or concurrent publication. Authors should not publish manuscripts describing substantially the same research in more than one scholarly journal. Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal constitutes unethical publishing practice.
Acknowledgement of sources. Authors should always provide accurate references to the sources and scholarly works cited in their articles.
Authorship. Authorship should accurately reflect those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or revision of the research underlying the article. All such contributors should be listed as co-authors. Individuals who have contributed significantly to specific aspects of the research should be appropriately acknowledged. In the case of jointly authored submissions, the corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have been properly identified, have approved the final version of the manuscript, and have agreed to its submission and publication in «Per leggere».
Conflicts of interest and disclosure. All authors must explicitly declare any financial or other conflicts of interest that could have influenced the results or interpretations presented in the article. Authors should also acknowledge any sources of research funding and/or the research project from which the article derives.
Errors in published articles. If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in a published article, they should promptly notify the Editors and cooperate with them by providing all necessary information to enable the appropriate correction to be published.
