L1 literature education in Germany

Since 1945, L1 literature education in Germany has become increasingly institutionally anchored in academic journals, professional associations, and as an academic discipline. The approaches to literature education are based on theoretical paradigms shaped by socio-political factors, which have changed over time and are dynamically discussed in the discipline through opposing discourses. This contribution provides an insight into L1 literature education in Germany as an academic field of research from both diachronic and synchronic perspectives.
