This contribution stems from reflections developed within the Crescere Nonostante project, which aims to support families affected by incarceration through a community-based network. The text reflects the need to invest in the relationship between the inside and outside of prison, emphasizing the importance of permeability of detention boundaries in sustaining family lives. Drawing on literature on the consequences of incarceration on families and on reflections on the concept of permeability in sociological, legal, and pedagogical contexts, the contribution presents the Collaboration and Educational Support Project Protocol as a tool designed to promote the centrality of individuals in the process of identifying their needs and expectations and, at the same time, to foster the connection between prison and local community.
