Abstract

The term hackathon refers to an event in which individuals, with different abilities, work cooperatively in order to develop an innovative project. Participants, guided by creativity, propose ideas to solve the problem, spontaneously forming working groups. The University of Foggia has organized several hackathons in recent years, including one organized in May 2022 entitled "Wellbeethon: the Wellbeing Marathon"; the hackathon, in the wake of the pandemic, aimed to reopen the doors in attendance to the entire academic community and to stimulate reflection and action designed to promote a conscious culture of mental and physical well‐being among students and workers at the University of Foggia. Winning the "Wellbeethon" was the idea of Sportability, an app dedicated to sports services for people with disabilities. Today the beta version of Sportability sees the light of day thanks to a collaboration with a company specializing in the field. The present contribution represents the start of an educational‐methodological experimentation for the use of the SportAbility App.
