Abstract

The final project developed to obtain the Master’s Degree in Special Education (SE) at the Castelo Branco Higher School of Education (ESECB) includes the development of knowledge in thematic areas of SE in the cognitive and motor domains, involving a critical, in reflections provided by an adequate and updated “state of art” of the thematic area in which it is inserted. In the SE Master’s
degree, the research is organized around 3 lines, according to thematic areas, integrated in theoretical paradigms, suitable for this type of investigation. These lines focus on studies conducted at any stage in the life of special populations.
The research lines are systematized as follows:
- Evaluation and Intervention in Special and Inclusive Education
- Historical and Ecological Dimensions of Special and Inclusive Education
- Educational Policies, School Management and Teacher Training in Special and Inclusive Education.
Thus, we sought to contribute to the characterization of the research activity carried out in the scope of Special and Inclusive Education through the final Project of ESECB Master, using as reference the categorization focused on some fundamental questions: What problems are studied?
With what research methodologies? What is the geographical origin of the studies?
