Neoliberal truth regime, digitalization of training processes and risks for democracy

Abstract

Using Foucault’s categories, the essay points out the problems of the neoliberal regime of truth, that has redefined the pedagogical imaginary and has transformed educational systems. In the first part, the starting point will be taken from positions such as that of Laval and Vergne, who denounce the depoliticization of any reasoning on educational goals and the finalization of education for the accumulation of human capital, which would block the instituting freedom of educational operators. In the second part, the impact of digital technologies managed within the neoliberal paradigm will be considered and, using Alquati’s categories, the dangers inherent in their use will be underlined.
