"Have a cry" Addressing identity issues in times of corona virus: challenges and possible options through educational and counselling interventions

Abstract

This article presents reflections on the challenges that counselling has to face in modern society especially under Corona conditions. Identity is discussed in terms of a psychosocial tool connecting both individual and society’s requests. The author proposes to move one further step forward in TA theory through introducing and developing ideas using an holistic approach related to connectedness of individuals. Two case studies are presented and discussed as examples for this understanding of counselling. The author suggests to reïect on the risk of pathologizing children through an individualizing theory naming the responsibility connected with this theoretical approach.
